Return to the BUILD
“The first components of your DB5 are the radiator grille, bonnet and boot badges, and bulletproof screen. In this section discover how they fit into the model and learn about the real car parts.”
This is where our Eaglemoss 1:8 scale James Bond Aston Martin DB5 partwork build-up all begins! We have two part packs in this magazine issue, but I am going to create pages for each pack individually. Unfortunately, this pack has no build steps at all (we just store these parts for later). The build should get more interesting as time goes on.
If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend reading through my Getting Started page first.

Parts
This image includes the parts for the entire issue. However, the parts included with this pack are:
- Radiator Grille
- Aston Martin Badges
- Bulletproof Screen
Materials: Here I will describe the materials the supplied parts in each pack are made out of. All of the screws are metal, so I will not mention them. For instance, in this pack, only the Bulletproof Screen is metal – the other parts are plastic.

Build
Radiator Grille
The Radiator Grille (001-A) has three pins which will be pressed into posts of the body later on. Put this part aside in a safe place for now.
Aston Martin Badges
The Aston Martin Badges (001-B) will be added to the model in Pack 57 and Pack 77. Put them aside in a safe place for now.
Bulletproof Screen
The Bulletproof Screen (001-C) will not be installed until Pack 60, so keep it in a safe place for now.
Thoughts
This completes our first pack! There was nothing to build at all, just parts to store until later. The Bulletproof Screen is metal, but the rest is plastic. I am looking forward to the rest of this build, it is so classy!

Pack 02 – Driver’s Seat Cushion/Base/Back/Cover/Arms, Front Bumper and Overriders, Rotating License Plate
I finally got my DB5 too. I am going full model route, like the BTTF car. Sanding all mold seams and repainting parts. I am disappointed in how they produced the magazine, and build up. It seems very disjointed. Giving you the bulletproof screen, and other parts that will not be used until the end.
Good to see you starting as well. I am not sure how much extra modding I will be doing to this car, but we will see. And it is just like Eaglemoss to give you parts early that you put aside for a year or more.
This is a great start for this build.
Hello
Is it possible to start the build now, are the parts available
Thanks Ian
Eaglemoss went bankrupt (administration in the UK) and disappeared. The administrators are in the process of selling off pieces of the company, including the build-up models, to other parties. It does appear that PCT (IXO models) has picked up the DB5 partwork, but they need to work out licensing for the various territories around the world to be able to market/sell them again.
I cannot find my around who may or may not have the DB5 collection now that Eaglemoss is gone.
Fanhome did not appear to have it and I am getting frustrated since I received up to Issue 48 which appears to be just over halfway to the end.
I see here that the latest seems to be that the licensing still has to be worked out. I believe my last delivery was 12 months ago which is not as long as I was thinking but still kind of anxious. I would be happy to consider getting the remainder in one shipment if I could and then I start to build!
I appreciate any assistance you can provide with direction to the right place or the absolute latest.
Unfortunately, I have not heard a thing about if anyone will be picking up the old Eaglemoss DB5 build.
